Today I am kind of fed up, and severely lacking in motivation for any of my current projects. And getting increasingly dispirited with the process of emailing my CV out into FEATURELESS VOIDS. So, instead, a meme:

Pick one, a fandom and character/pairing, and I'll tell you the story I'd write for that trope now, and then probably try and actually write it in the next couple of days or something. I make no particular promises about quality.

I'm just having a bad-brain day, really. Bleh. But I feel a lot cheered up from playing around with this meme :) (And I need to stop doing the thing where I crosspost from DW and then forget about the comments on the DW post, ARGH.)

Diana acquires a baby on a temporary basis - one of her friends/relatives has a sudden crisis, maybe an elderly relative some distance away is very ill and needs care and it wouldn't be a good environment to be trying to look after a baby in, so Diana's asked if she can be a caretaker for a week or two. She's sceptical but there really isn't anyone else, so she calls Peter to see if she can have some time off. Peter thinks this is the CUTEST THING EVER and tells everyone and suddenly Diana finds the entire White Collar division descending on her to help out and see her with a baby. Neal especially makes loads of jokes but then she foists the baby on him for a bit so she can talk about cases in the other room, and comes back to find Neal's become besotted with it. And then he's round all hours being "helpful", and so is Peter, and El is hanging around giggling at the boys. And everyone has a lovely time :D

That sounds adorable. And, yes, Neal would love the baby. So would Peter. I'll bet Peter would feel less awkward with a baby than he does with older children. You don't have to wonder how to act around a baby, it's not going to notice.

White Collar truth or dare fic please. It's one of my favorite tropes.

I'm assuming everyone would be drunk to play this :P I feel this would really quickly devolve into everyone seeing who could convince the others of the most outrageous lies. Neal would start out all cocky and then find Peter was incredibly good at it.

Then Neal would accidentally let something true and sad slip, and Peter would be all upset on his behalf and try to give him ALL THE HUGS. Then they'd just go to sleep like that :D
