Rating: PG-13
Word count: 650

The Feast of the Exceptional Rose falls around Valentine's Day, and is a time for celebration in the Neath.

Summary: Masks are not required for the Feast of the Exceptional Rose, but they are expected.

Everything long and with plot is currently stuck in Editing Hell, so have some quick Neal h/c in the meantime.

Title: The Itinerant Physician
Characters/Pairing: Neal, Diana/Christie
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 950
Warnings: None.
Notes: For the Accidents square on my [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo card.

Summary: There's not a great demand for doctors when death isn't permanent. So Neal's not going to complain about the one Diana's found to stitch him up. (Much.)

Characters/Pairing: Diana, Mozzie
Rating: PG-13

Warnings: Spiders.

Summary: Someone is trying to kill Diana.

Title: Thefts of Particular Character
Characters/Pairing: Neal, Mozzie, Peter, Diana
Rating: PG
Word count: 6400
Warnings: None
Notes: The “Thefts” storylet in-game allows you to steal high-level items, with a brief description of where you’re stealing them from. This seemed eminently suited to Neal.

Summary:If you’re in need of particular items, you could go shopping. But who does that? (Or: Five times a heist went as planned, and one time it didn’t.)

Title: A Scholar of the Correspondence
Characters/Pairing: Peter, Neal, Mozzie
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 2700
Warnings: None
Notes: For this story I need to explain about the Correspondence, which is some sort of script from who-knows-where. One doesn't write it on paper, because of the paper's tendency to catch fire. [livejournal.com profile] mentalfirewall suggested I write Neal attempting to forge it.

Summary: "It's an exciting scientific discovery," Neal says, following Peter's eyes. "We were lucky enough to be able to save some of the evidence."

"By which you mean, the lead plaques which have
not yet spontaneously burst into flames."

London is by no means the only thing in the vast cavern of the Neath; there is also the unterzee, or zee for short. On which one zails, to reach the lands beyond — Polythreme, The Iron Republic, North. It can sometimes feel like it's taking forever to cross it. Sometimes one encounters other zailers, or… less pleasant things.

Title: Fair Zailing
Characters/Pairing: Peter, Neal, El; Gen
Rating: PG
Word count: 1800
Warnings: None
Notes: This is basically floof. I know, I'm surprised too. (I will write another one with All The Peril.)

Summary: It's a long voyage across the broad unterzee.

Title: The Taste of Lacre
Characters/Pairing: Neal, Peter, El, June; Gen
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 1000
Warnings: None
Notes: [livejournal.com profile] sholio wrote a lovely, lovely story set when the Neath-snow (the lacre) was falling. Then I wrote this in response. The lacre is linked to all the pieces of lore I find most fascinating, and which are the most eerily creepy.

Summary: Don't breathe the lacre in for too long.

This one requires some explanation first.

Fallen London has a serial killer, Jack-of-Smiles. Although actually Jack isn't any one person — someone becomes Jack as a result of picking up an extremely bloodthirsty semi-sentient knife. Then they lose their mind and go on a killing spree, with lethality varying between "throat cut but will recover from being dead very soon" to "sliced up into a lot of little pieces".

…I was rather obviously going to write this fic sooner or later. I am even less good at writing things which aren't angsty hurt/comfort in this 'verse than I normally am.

Title: Jack-of-Smiles
Author: [personal profile] frith_in_thorns
Characters/Pairing: Jack, Peter, Neal, El; Gen
Rating: T
Word count: 2300
Warnings: This is very dark. Graphic violence and character death which is non-permanent
Notes: Claiming for the Serial Killers square on [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo.
Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] sholio and [livejournal.com profile] helle_d for persuading me to post this!

Summary: The knife is in his hand and it tells him his name. Tells him to let no one get in his way.

This is officially a 'verse now. [livejournal.com profile] sholio and I have written over 10k words of this between us so far. It's so much fun.

Title: A Game of Croquet
Characters/Pairing: Neal/The Affectionate Devil, Peter
Rating: PG-13 (There is flirting, but that's all.)
Word count: 1500
Warnings: I don't think so.
Notes: Neal is such a good fit for the "An Intimate of Devils" storyline.

Summary: Croquet is a genteel sport. Conversations, on the other hand, are fair game for cheating.

This is the first of my [community profile] fandom_stocking fics to be posted to my journal. It's also possibly the strangest. [livejournal.com profile] sholio and I had a very long and exclamation-mark filled discussion recently about how the characters from White Collar would get on in Fallen London, which is a web game which is beautiful and dark and hilarious and all kinds of wonderful (The game description is in italics below the header). Then I wrote this for her. More ficlets in this 'verse will almost certainly follow.

Title: A Boat Trip
Characters: Peter, Neal, the Boatman, El
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 1550
Warnings: Character death as game mechanic. Entirely non-permanent.
Notes: Hopefully this will make some sort of sense without playing the game! For this segment, what you need to know: You have a Wounds quality. When your Wounds are high enough you die, and are sent to the river where you have to stay until you've reduced your Wounds enough to come back to life again. In Fallen London it is all but impossible to die permanently, and all the inhabitants know it.

Summary: Peter is temporarily dead. Neal thinks he should have some company.

Three decades ago, London was stolen by bats. Dragged deep into the earth by the Echo Bazaar. The sun is gone. All we have is the gas-light of Mr Fires.
But Londoners can get used to anything. And it's quiet down here with the devils and the darkness and the mushroom wine. Peaceful.
So welcome. Delicious Friend.
