frith_in_thorns: Watercolour painting of a sailing ship in space (art Starship)
I am feeling happy and celebratory, so I want to host a prompt meme!

All fandoms welcome. Hurt/comfort loved ^_^

How to play
1. Leave prompts below! Put the fandom, main character(s), and a brief description of the you're requesting in the comment header, i.e. "DMBJ, Liu Sang, accidental overhearing", or "W359, space pets". Then use the body of the comment to provide more details.
2. Read the prompts and fill ones you feel like filling! Or make art inspired by them or anything. Please include "Fill" in the comment header so they're easy to locate.

Rules
1. Anyone can write and fill prompts. You don't have to be signed in; anon comments are fine.
2. Links to fills on AO3 etc are also fine.
3. No minimums for prompts or fills.
4. Multiple fills for a single prompt are fine.
5. Prompts and fills should be gen-ish/gen-focused. This rule is because it's my meme and I can :D So established or background relationships can be just ~there~ but not the focus.
6. If you want to make a fill that breaks rule 5, you actually can, just please post it on AO3 and link back with a note that it's rule-breaking :P

Fills
1. Pangzi cooking for Liu Sang (DMBJ) - [personal profile] frith_in_thorns
2. Liu Sang sick and grumpy (DMBJ) - [personal profile] frith_in_thorns
3. Wu Xie's degree in architecture (DMBJ) - [personal profile] achray
4. Su Ci & Liu Xuan giving gifts (Maiden Holmes) - [personal profile] aroberuka
frith_in_thorns: The city of Atlantis (SGA Atlantis)
Hi guys, I'm on holiday! Well, halfway through it. I have been reading lots of books - The Boy Who Lost Fairyland, which was rather disappointing, Bitterblue and Fire in that order, which works surprisingly well (and the characters are all adorable as ever), one that I'm probably not allowed to talk about but was GREAT, and a smattering of Toby books: Rosemary and Rue, A Local Habitation, The Winter Long. This was actually my first reread of Winter, and it is even more intriguing the second time around. Although, there is really not enough Tybalt h/c. (If you would now guess that Ashes of Honor is my favourite of the series, you would be right.)

I haven't really been doing any writing for ages, though -- I just haven't been in the right mood for it? Which is a bit annoying, because I have several long WIPs as well as my original novel which is neeeeearlly finished, finally. As in, would be finished by now if I could summon up inclination to actually work on it, argh...

Anyway, to try and kickstart my writing brain again, I am taking fic prompts. To be written over the next week and uploaded when the patchy internet access allows.

Preferred: quite specific prompts/scenarios. Not really in the mood for MCU or White Collar right now, due to aforementioned frustrating WIPs (Fallen London AU is fine). Gratuitous Tybalt h/c scenarios greatly welcomed. Well, that always goes for all my favourite characters. You all know me. I'm rambling. Prompt me pls?

Give me an interesting word, a canon, and (if you like) a character. I'll write you a ficlet.

(I guarantee to fill the first five prompts, after that I will still do my best but historically I fail a lot.)
frith_in_thorns: Diana Berrigan in a winter coat, looking down and smiling (WC Diana)
Like many other equally silly people, I'm doing nano this year -- except I'm ignoring the official targets and going for at least 1000 words per day. It seemed like a good time to actually write the YA SFF story I've had floating in my head for at least three years, with all the characters fully-formed.

However, I'm really bad at focusing on things for more than a few thousand words. So I thought I'd also do the timestamp meme that's been floating around, so that I can dip into other things as a distraction :) Rules copied from [livejournal.com profile] sholio:

In a comment, give me the name of one of my fics and let me know what you want ("a missing scene from El's point of view", "what happened right after the explosion", "ten years later in this universe", "AU in which Peter got shot instead of Neal", etc) and I'll try to write a commentfic of at least a hundred words for you!

Or, if there's something specific you want that isn't a timestamp, you can ask for that instead. Most of my White Collar stuff is on AO3 here, and Fallen London stuff is in a sticky post on my journal.

Disclaimer: I will try very hard to fill at least the first few, but as is fairly evident to anyone who's hung around my journal for any length of time, I can be really awful with these things. Also I am still incredibly unlikely to write sex scenes.

That said, please do leave me prompts! I really enjoy writing fics for you guys :)

Prompt me!

Today I have a day off (okay, I've had several days off with a chest infection, but this one was pre-booked and also I am finally mostly-not-ill), and I'm going to be PRODUCTIVE.

Sadly I've hit points in both my long WIPs (sandy and big bang, for those wondering) where I've run into a wall.

Therefore, as a break, I will write ficlets/short scenes. Leave a prompt in the comments, and I will do my best to write a thing for it. (It will probably be a bit of a story rather than a complete story.) Any fandom ever except BBC Sherlock and H50.

(If you prompt a fandom for which I haven't written yet, proceed at your own risk.)

I am a sheep, and I clearly hadn't signed up for enough bingo cards already :D So here's my new one from [community profile] cottoncandy_bingo.

Finally Sound Milestone Cuddle Friends for life
Running out of time Writing for someone Earache Dancing Game night
Inspiration / Muse Under the surface WILD CARD Fair / Carnival / Festival Comfort food
Bows / Frills / Lace Fantasy Transportation problems Fabric Snuggles
Pillows or soft toys Saving a life Close Shelter Sleepy

Anyone want to prompt me? The only stipulations are that I have to have happy endings. Eventually.

On a related note, I'm currently very impressed with myself for having filled five squares so far on my [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo card in a way that doesn't even start making any pattern whatsoever. This is an achievement, clearly.

Title: After the Storm
Characters/Pairing: Neal, Peter; Gen
Genre/Rating: Fluffy angst. Or angsty fluff. PG.
Word count: 1100

Notes: This was supposed to be a drabble, for a prompt from [livejournal.com profile] sholio, but apparently I'm not very good at writing things which fit into comment boxs. So I'm posting it as a short fic instead.
Title is a song by Mumford & Sons.

Summary: Prompt: Peter and Neal getting drunk together after something bad happens on a case

and after the storm, we run and run as the rains come )

It's occured to me that I probably want to put my Sherlock fics somewhere more permanent than a kink meme. I'm going to post the two that I most like now, and backdate the others so that I don't clog up your flists too much.

Title: Spinning in the Middle of the Air
Prompt: Here. Sherlock isn't fast enough solving a case and something bad happens. He gets high and is comforted/sobered by John.
Word count: 1300
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Drug use, unintentional self-harm
Category: Um. Somewhere between gen and slash? I'm tagging for both, to be annoying.
Notes: Researching this, I was pretty surprised at how many internet forums there are dedicated to telling people how to take hallucinogenic/psycadelic drugs. You learn something new every day.
