If you want more Wu Xie spitting blood they cut A WHOLE PLOTLINE where he starts coughing up pearls (as you do) and Zhu Yilong does a beautiful take here: https://youtu.be/3OLBCW8g-yw
How could I have forgotten about the cocoons?!?! What a stunning plot development those were. I have no words. "Stunning" is good. Stunning like a shovel to the face.
Oh, random, but from another episode I liked that Liu Sang was texting with Wu Xie, that was nice :) From the interface it looks like he was scrolling through Weibo rather than texting! But it means that Wu Xie follows him and other expedition members there and gets some updates that way.
I kind of wanted Director Ding's motivation to have been that he was JUST SO ANNOYED BY WU XIE, because it would have been completely justified for him to turn into a villian on account of that. Wu Xie was very annoying. Ahahahahahahahahahahha okay that would be the most amazing decent into villany.
And it was only when he was the one pushing the plot forward that it became obvious how awful (in the best way!) he is. Yup! When he's being buried alive and fighting shellfish and blind you can excuse the lack of rational thinking and everything, but in this arc...whoops.
Although it's not like anyone on this show is any better than he is at planning, so probably I should give him a break! "Hey to steal shit from this warehouse we should murder everyone inside and wall them up in our EXACT REPLICA WAREHOUSE that we're somehow going to hastily construct ON TOP OF THE ORIGINAL nobody will ever know!"
...that is to say. Yes. Given how absolutely wild this world is, where you can't even go to a random city location without falling into a tomb full of poison and people's motivations are properly bonkers it's no wonder he's just winging it.
