December 10: The Mechanisms! Perhaps tell me why I should (or shouldn't) check out their latest album. (I love Once Upon a Time in Space but have never got round to their subsequent work.)

AHHH ULYSSES IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE (Camelot still leaves me a bit cold a lot o the time, though there are a couple of songs in it I love, but -- yeah, anyway, there's this one fic I am racing Nastya to get around to writing which is uh a mash-up of The Scariest Library (long essay, so worth it) and Ulysses-world, so, um, yes. Many feelz~~~ >_>

OH today on the bus home from school I finished my re-read of Ancillary Sword and then when I was walking I realised that Amaat's song can fit nicely to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus" (which I have sung way too often already this week):

- To what extent does meta change how you write fanfic/build headcanons/etc? Do you find yourself adopting good arguments, or do you take a generally "my headcanon, my rules" stance? Has meta ever dampened your enthusiasm for something by changing your perception of that thing into something you no longer enjoy?
