Lol, sure! Here you are, in its written-extremely-quickly state :P I really miss that fandom, I used to love my slightly melodramatic Stella/Mac fics :D

Prompts I had for this: "smiling cat", "wandering", "we're not lost"

- -

"It shows strength of character," Stella says, "Being able to admit when you're wrong."

Don twists the steering wheel with slightly more than necessary force. "I'm not wrong."

"We're lost," Stella says, as the car slows for an intersection. A massive black-and-white cat is washing itself on a low wall. It turns to stare at them, and seems to smile in a superior sort of way.

Don sets his teeth. "No, we're not. I know exactly where we are."

"Somewhere in New York state?"

"Stell, you aren't helping."

"You know what might help? Stopping to ask directions."

"We don't need to do that. Because we aren't lost."

Stella rolls her eyes. "You just keep telling yourself that. Maybe I should call Mac, tell him we're going to be late."

"No! Don't do that. He can think we're stuck in traffic or something."

"And you want me to be an accomplice in lying by omission? Don Flack, I'm shocked."

"If you tell Mac some untruth —"

"What, about us driving around and around the same suburb?"

"That is not what we're doing. Anyway, if you do I'll…"

She watches him politely as he trails off, and then waits. When no more concrete threat is forthcoming she enquires sweetly, "Or what?"

"Or…" He's clearly struggling. "I won't stop for pizza on the way back to the lab."

"That'll hurt you more than it hurts me," she points out.

He glares, but doesn't attempt to contest the point. Which is a shame, since that would have been another easy victory for her.

"So," she says after a while. "Are you ready to admit we're lost yet?"

"Nope." He slows to turn, and glances at her suspiciously. "Why are you grinning?"

She points to the same cat they've passed already. It stares back at them, and Stella would be prepared to swear that it's sniggering.

Don sighs. "Okay. Maybe we should ask directions."
