He does look less like that in real life - they give him costumes which are too big to keep him looking waif-y :)

But yeah, that show. I'm pretty sure that my friends and I are only watching it out of some masochistic train-wreck sort of thing at this point. (One of them only realised half-way through the second season that Gaius wasn't meant to be seen as a morally-dubious bastard XD) But there's quite a bit of good fic - have you read The Ivy Crown? - and redscharlach's ep recaps are also things of beauty :)
